Ingredients

  • 2 kg peas in their pods
  • 750 g small onions
  • 100 ml water
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 50 g butter (diced)
  • 30 g flour
  • 20 g peanuts (roughly chopped)
  • 20 g pecans (roughly chopped
  • 20 g cashews (roughly chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of salt, pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil.

Preparation

  1) Brown the onions in oil. 2) Add the peas, sugar and water. 3) Cover and cook on a low heat for 20 minutes. 4) Combine the butter and flour and mix until you have a smooth dough. 5) Using your hands, roll the dough into balls and add them to the pan. 6) Add the ginger, peanuts, pecans, cashews and the salt. 7) Cook on a low heat for ten minutes to let the ingredients infuse.
