1) Peel and cut the artichokes in half then brown them in some oil.
2) Set aside. In the same oil, brown the onion with the garlic and the bay leaf.
3) Add the diced potato, the artichokes and the salt.
4) Add the flour and water.
5) Cook on a low heat for 20 minutes.
6) Add the turmeric, the dates and the macadamias and allow to cook for another 15 minutes.
